i emailed this conversation to a couple of my friends and then realized how blog WORTHY it really is....

we are interviewing for a new office associate via phone interviews. today we interviewed a real winner. see conversation below.

me: what adjective(s) would a supervisor use to describe you?
candidate: oh i guess hardworking. [long pause] yeah hardworking.
me: okay? what adjective(s) would a friend use to describe you?
candidate: oh i guess loyal.
me: anything else?
candidate: no not really.
me: oh, okay? what adjective(s) would an enemy use to describe you?
candidate: oh! people have told me that i don't know what i'm doing and i'm an idiot...
me: [long pause] okay. well thanks so much for taking the time to talk with me today. do you have any questions?
candidate: no not really.

so many big life changes have happened in 2010. if i didn't have this blog i'm not sure how much of the early part of the year i'd remember. we were caring for the sweetest newborn i've ever laid eyes on. but sleep was rare. to be honest, how did we survive?!

we made the big move back to lincoln in may. and ever since things have been go-go-go. so take a look back at the most precious year of our lives with the sweetest baby girl...

best month yet. my life is forever changed. it is impossible to believe that year has gone by. all week i have been thinking back on where i was a year ago. and today i stand here amazed. i have never been more in love with anyone or anything. my sweet baby girl is one. ONE. wow. she is the most precious daughter and i'm feeling so blessed.

• evie is now 17 lbs 12 ounces and 28.5 inches long (5th percentile)...

• she got a new carseat but will still remain rear-facing since she is not 20 lbs

• evie is understanding cause & effect and can play with a toy independently knowing exactly how it works
• she is yet to take independent steps - but is SO close
• her christmas wish did not come true yet. her two front teeth are still missing & she only has the bottom two
• evie can now give hugs & kisses when asked
• she will turn her white noise machine on & light switch off when its bedtime
• evie's favorite word this month has been mama (and i'm loving it!)
• she had her first christmas & was incredibly spoiled! :)
• evie loves to play the piano

• she will mock us (copy us) when we cough or sneeze...and then laugh hysterically afterward

• her new favorite food is blueberries

• evie bonked the bridge of her nose on the coffee table and got a nice scratch & bruise

• she is still wearing size 2 diapers and 9-12 month clothing

• evie loves throwing food over the side of her highchair and saying "uh-oh"
