august happenings

august has been a whirlwind of adventures. it went by so quickly i barely kept up.

1. first weekend away from evie
2. two wedding weekends
3. three bridal showers/bachelorettes
4. four birthday celebrations
5. five out of town family members visited

eight months old

look who evie got to spend her eight month birthday with! excuse me, what? eight months? my baby is becoming a little person.

this past month…

• i have no idea how big evie has gotten. peds appt at 9 months for stats.

• evie is "crawling" - or rather her version of it... "the worm"

• she finds everything & will pick it up.

• evie is taking 2 naps a day.

• her vocabulary is expanding & she will even say her m's. mama soon to come?

• evie loves carrots!

• evie was sick with roseola this month. poor baby :(

• she likes to store food in her hands.

• evie will smile so big her entire face squishes up.

• still no teeth.

• evie is super active & loves to play. she even dances to music!

• evie will drop things when she is in her exersaucer & peek over trying to find it again.

• she loves being outdoors.

i'm still in shock that she is eight months old...wow they really do grow up at a blink of an eye.

103.7 degrees

103.7 degrees is close to what it has felt like outside this summer...but what i am referring to is evie's temperature last night. yuck. our poor baby girl has been running a fever for the past 24 hours. today she has little red spots all over her body from the fever & has been pretty upset most of the day. she is certainly not feeling her happy, chipper little self.

the only part i love...the fact that evie likes snuggling with her mommy. she hasn't done this since she was probably 2 months old & boy oh boy do i love having her sweet head rested on my shoulder.

this weekend is the first weekend without any wedding stuff - so it makes for a good weekend to rest and get to feeling better. in the mean time....here's a sweet picture of evie playing with her piggy bank.

evie is just about ready to start crawling. tonight we skyped with my parents so they could see her on the move. you can see evie interacting with them, even though they were "stuck" in the computer screen :)

mommy's first weekend away

i just spent my first weekend away from evie. i sure missed my baby girl - but kept VERY busy with my fabulous friends in kansas city. friday night my besties and i had a bachelorette party for steph. such a great time catching up with all the girls. we have all scattered across the midwest and it has been quite a while since all of us have been together.

saturday night we gathered to celebrate the wedding of mr. & mrs. jason huwe! we have all been looking forward to this wedding and it did NOT disappoint! wow! another great time with old friends! congrats jason & michelle!

on sunday we drove back to lincoln. as if the weekend couldn't get any better...my best friend melanie FINALLY got to meet evie! as you can tell, evie was overjoyed to see aunt mel!

watching evie smack her face b/c i didn't have a good enough hold on her. the bruise under her eye doesn't seem that bad in the picture...but you didn't hear the silent scream...heart wrenching.
