God is Good.

i work with three of the most incredible ladies at SPU. i am so blessed by their friendship, love, & support. throughout the past 9 months, they have been the ones to walk this journey with me everyday. and for that i am thankful. amanda filled my closet for me with all of her maternity clothes. janelle has filled the baby's nursery with all of her daughters' adorable clothes, swing, rocker, & so much more. although brie isn't a mommy yet, she offered so much support. she checked in on me every week to see what "fruit" the baby was, & was always so excited with me when she felt the baby move!

this past week, the girls threw me a shower at work. and then, on sunday, all three of them came over to my house & gave me a birth blessing. a tradition from the navajo tribe & a right of passage for women; the three spent the evening pampering me. we started with dinner. i didn't lift a finger - they came well prepared & did the cooking! then came a massage, pedicure & manicure! following that, we had special time where amanda & janelle shared their labor stories & offered support. their blessings on erik, baby h, & myself were incredibly heart felt & brought tears to our eyes. we finished the night with snickers pie (yummmmm) & the girls drew some artwork of encouragement for me to post in the apartment when i start labor. the night was filled with laughter & lots of love. here are just a few pics from the wonderful night.

Amanda, Janelle, & Brie:

thank you thank you for all of your support over the past 9 months. there are not enough words to thank you for all you have done. i feel beyond supported & blessed. i thank the Lord everyday for putting each of you in my life.

nesting

"nesting really is a verb." -erik

yes honey, i know. i've gone a little crazy with the cleaning, washing of clothes, & overall preparing for this little one. erik has been super supportive. he even drove me to ikea during rush hour & rain to get the shelf we hung above the changing table. a 50 minute drive for a $20 shelf. i tried to make it up to him by letting him browse in the kitchen section for as long as he wanted. (this is a new record. i hate browsing. always have) thanks, babe!

clothes are hung in the closet & folded in the right basket. newborn diapers are ready to be worn. the car seat is installed. the nursery is all set...for now :)

we are officially at 35 weeks. 5 weeks to go! braxton hicks contractions are picking up more and more each day. at times they even take my breath away a little. the baby is sitting really high up in my ribs so it makes it difficult to breathe. if i try to talk while i'm walking i get incredibly winded. it is amazing what a tole 25 extra lbs & a baby in the ribs does on a body.

i am blessed to say that i am still sleeping really well. i only wake up a few times in the night & its rare for me not to fall back asleep right away. i have been having really crazy vivid dreams which is funny to say the least. when i wake up i have to make myself snap back in to reality!

we had a wonderful thanksgiving this year celebrating with all the golf view apt neighbors. erik made a delicious turkey & all the neighbors brought over yummy side dishes! that evening we played a little wii & madgab. i'm feeling so blessed & thankful this year...& that is an understatement.
