four months old

evie is at such a fun age!! i know it will only keep getting better!

this past month…

• evie is now 13.8 lbs just under 24 inches long. she has grown and is now in the 50th percentile!
• evie's hand is always in her mouth & drooly spit is always dripping out of her mouth.
• her new best friend is "mr. softbear" [named by her father].
• evie likes to talk to herself rather than sleep at night.
• naptime has been hit or miss since she started to be more active a couple weeks ago.
• she has figured out how her thumb works & loves to grab everything in sight.
• evie smiles so big it seems like her cheeks are going to tear.
• evie is starting to be somewhat fearful of other people besides mommy & daddy.
• she dominates tummy time & has rolled from tummy to back quite a few times.
• the superman hold doesn't work as consistently as it used to.
• she is wearing size 1-2 diapers.
• evie loves to squeal & scream with excitement. she is a little chatter-bug.
• evie is now laughing. it's incredible.

gavin & gwendolyn

evie got to spend her saturday afternoon playing with her new friends gavin & gwen. they all had so much fun. 21 month old, gwen, loved having a "real" baby doll to play with. she softly would place blankets on evie to keep her warm.

while the kiddos were playing, i got to catch up with my old friends deb & morgan. i went to high school with both of them & we all live in washington. so we wanted to get together before we move back to nebraska. it worked out great! evie loved watching gavin & gwen run around the apt. she smiled & laughed & enjoyed every minute!

evie is excited to get home to cheer on the huskers! she already knows how to "stand up & shoooouuuut!! " :)

playing. packing. and planning

miss evie is soaking in the world around her. she is so alert & becoming more & more aware of her surroundings. she is squawking & talking all the time which means we have permanent smiles on our face. it's so much fun to watch her discover new things from her fingers & toes to new toys. she's so fun to play with.

it has been a crazy few weeks around here! we have less than a month before we move home to lincoln, so we've been packing & planning. we have the biggest thing checked off our list as of today, & that is a HOUSE! we will be renting a house & are super excited about it. it is actually the house i lived in with my bff's through college. so many wonderful memories there. it's even the place where erik & i got engaged, so it'll be fun to make it our home. thank the LORD for ann & dan brown - our wonderful landlords! God really had perfect timing for this transition. now its beginning to feel real!

next on the list is our job search. i've been applying for jobs but i'm really hoping that i can wait to work until the end of the summer. it would be nice to stay home with evie this summer & get our home settled first. so we'll see. praying that erik is able to secure a job where he can learn & grow & keep moving forward in his career!

our good friend, mark will be flying out to seattle to help erik pack up all our stuff & drive back to lincoln with him. my mom will be flying out to help me finish stuff up around here & help evie & me on our flight back to the midwest.

we will be in lincoln may 15th. let the countdown begin! t minus 32 days til we are HOME!
