we have been trying so hard to get evie used to a routine. we have heard a so many different theories & read several books about the best way to get a baby to sleep through the night. we have found that the "baby whisperer" & "babywise" have resonated best. we don't agree with everything - but the general ideas we like. wake, sleep, eat. i am not one to argue with other parents out there. every parent has to find their own way - and this is what we have found to work best for us & evie.
wake, eat, then sleep. she has been slowly getting the hang of it & is napping so much better! even though evie has been sleeping in her crib since birth, we now hardly have to do anything before we lay her down. she goes to sleep on her own almost every nap. our little peanut is starting to be a little more predictable which means more sleep for mom & dad!
we have also come to appreciate the soothing techniques in "happiest baby on the block" the 5 s-'s have really come in handy! you can see 4 of the s-'s taking place in this picture! swaddling, swinging, sucking, & shhhh-ing (white noise from the monitor). she really seems to be the happiest baby on the block!
