adenoids + tonsils = removed

Keller had surgery this week to remove her adenoids and tonsils. She did great and was such a trooper. The doctor said they were huge and it was good we had the surgery. The procedure only took about 30 minutes and we left the hospital  by 1030am. Day 1 was spent resting and she was very quiet. It's hard to watch our normally very spunky gal so reserved and mellow.

Hopefully the rest of the week goes quickly and she recovers well.

Waiting for surgery. Happy as always.

In my arms after surgery.

Resting at home.

four years old

keller grace. you are one fiery and feisty little ball of energy. it has been one crazy year and I can't believe you are four.

at four years old you are incredibly full of character!  you take in every moment and find each opportunity you can to perform. you sing at the top of your lungs and love to put on shows for us. your favorite songs are all from the musical Annie. you even got to go see the musical live this year with mommy, daddy, and evie. at your last doctor's appointment you weighed 39 lbs and were 42.5 inches tall.

you have seen a lot of doctors this year. and you have learned the art of negotiation at all of these appointments. you can successfully earn two suckers and two stickers at each visit. you rocked your liver appointments and ultrasounds but failed your ENT visit. you have your first surgery in a couple weeks and get your tonsils and adenoids out.

you loved preschool this year. you remembered everyone's names after the first day and loved going back every tuesday and thursday.

every night you put all of your babies and animals in bed with you. your blankies (yes two) haven't left you one night. you ask for candy or gum everyday. you must need it to help maintain your sweetness level. you love playing with your babies and take such great care of them.

you love your sister but spend most of your time teasing her. you love to color and paint and will always sing while you work. you are such a great helper and are always so good at picking up your toys. you even volunteer to clean both your room and evie's room.

you can hold a conversation with anyone including the people you meet in the grocery store. you are determined and strong willed which is proof you will be a leader. we wouldn't change anything about you.  keller, the stories we love to tell about you are countless. there is no one like you. i love being your mommy. happy birthday, punks.

Liver check

Keller rocked her labs this month.  It has been over a year since we saw her liver doc… And she is doing awesome. The doctors were very happy with her progress and growth. Her liver is smaller than ever and they can no longer feel any enlargement of the spleen. They decided to take her off of her medication! Praise God!

She will have an ultrasound and more lab work in May. But, we are so thankful that she continues to improve!

three years old

keller grace. you make a room full of people laugh with your sassy and fun loving personality.  you are so thoughtful and remember everyone by name.  if you don't know them...you go get to know them.

at three years old you love music!  you love to sing and your favorite songs are somewhere over the rainbow and amazing grace.  you dance at church when the band plays and whenever you hear music at our house.  you will put on a show for anyone who asks.  at your three-year checkup you weighed 32 lbs and were 38 inches tall.  your normal volume is typically a shout because you are so excited about everything life has to offer.  you know all of your letters but sometimes mix up K&X and O&Q.  you know that A is for alligator, and B is for bret, E is for evie, K is for keller, P is for papa, T is for tom, U is for umbrella, and Z is for zebra.

you have a new found affection for GUM.  you love it.  you also love suckers, books, and baby dolls.  you love your blankie and can't sleep without it.  your bed is packed full of all of your friends and you notice when one of the twenty is missing.  you love to draw and you are left-handed.  you like to pick on your sister, but she's your best friend.

you can count to twelve and sometimes fifteen.  you know all of your colors and most of your shapes.  you have so much adventure in you it scares me.  you don't seem to be afraid of anything.  you can get dressed by yourself and really love being independent.  we hear "i do it!" quite frequently.  you love being outside and playing with daddy.  but you are a mommy's girl at bedtime.  no one else is allowed near your room.  you and mommy love to read books and sing songs together.  and you really like to be "snug as a bug" in your bed.

you are a big girl who uses the potty.  your favorite foods are avocado, berries, and cucumbers.  you also really like noodles and cheese.  you speak very clearly in 4-10 word sentences.  most everyone you meet can understand you.

kid, you have brought us a joy we never knew we were missing.  you are full of spunk.  you are full of charisma.  you can drive us crazy with your determination...but never let that go, sweet girl.  you will be a world changer. i'm certain of it.
