we celebrated easter with erik's family this year. it's amazing looking back at photos from a year ago. this year, evie actually got to enjoy her easter basket! and she got to get her own eggs! the cousins all ran around the yard - filling up their baskets. evie kept her basket in hand the entire time. she loved it!!

dedication sunday

on sunday, april 10th we were blessed to be able to stand in front of the church body and dedicate evie. with evie's grandparents surrounding her, we made a promise to our sweet daughter, the church, and to our heavenly father that we would raise evie to seek after Christ. we feel incredibly loved and supported by our families and thank God for the example of our own parents.

we celebrated this wonderful day by grilling out, eating yummy cake, and blowing lots of bubbles in the yard! God is good.

papa's dream came true

anyone who knows my dad...knows he loves bubbles. he always has the trunk of his car loaded with bubbles in all different sizes! he has all the latest bubble machines and loves giving them to the kids at church. he even found a bubble machine for evie's bathtub!

the last time papa visited, he tried to blow bubbles outside with evie. she could have cared less. she was bored in two seconds. but today...it was a different story!! evie laughed hysterically as she watched papa make the bubbles fly! and she love love LOVED popping them (with a little help from grammie). papa's dream definitely came true watching evie's face light up with joy with each bubble.

fifteen months old

so much has changed in the past three months. evie is turning in to a little girl! she's talking and walking all over the place. she's so much fun.

• evie is now 19 lbs 11 ounces and 29 inches long (5-10th percentile)...

• she is STILL wearing size 2 diapers and 9-12 month clothing

• evie can find her nose, ears, eyes, mouth, teeth, head, bellybutton, toes, feet & hands
• she just started walking about 2 weeks ago but is doing great
• evie has 7 teeth & 3 en route

• she knows the animal sounds for a doggie, kitty, cow & lion

• evie had to take her first antibiotic this past month for a bacterial infection
• she sleeps 11-12 hours a night and one long nap a day
• evie's vocabulary is booming! too many words to list!!
• she is a CLIMBER
• evie throws a mean temper tantrum and loves the word "no"

• she loves reading! her favorite is sandra boynton's pajama time

• evie likes sitting on the front porch watching the critters in our neighborhood

this is a face we see frequently...this picture was captured right after i took my sunglasses away from evie. even when she's upset she's cute! :)

walk walk walkin

evie has been taking her sweet time in the walking dept. we have known that she was "able to walk" but was refusing for some reason. i think she decided that crawling was a more efficient means of transportation. until recently...she is now proving us right. she is a great walker! no wobbly, frankenstein-like walking for evie. she takes steps like a pro. she's so cute. maybe now, she'll stop eating fuzzies, paper, etc off the floor. ha!

park adventures

evie and daddy went to the park today. how is it possible that my daughter is able to play at a park? where is the time going?
