Sebastian's Table
Over the past four years I've watched Erik and his crew change the dining scene in Lincoln. I can't really explain how proud I am. Gabe and Erik started with a food truck and have expanded the company in super unique and creative ways.
Sebastian's Table began almost six years ago but only on paper. Erik created the concept as his final project for culinary school. So to see this restaurant become a reality was pretty amazing.
Over the past several months it's been pretty obvious that the location for this concept just wasn't right. People loved the food but weren't excited about downtown location. But the company does have the perfect concept for the space and location (Honest Abes).
So, with a heavy heart, we closed the doors to Sebastian's...and it will reopen in a few weeks as an Honest Abe's (woot!). I'm excited and hopeful for the possible return of Sebastian's someday. Just glad I know the chef who can recreate some of the dishes at home while we wait.

good life halfsy
At the beginning of the summer, I joined some friends from work in a running program called Beginner's Luck. Every week we got together and ran as a group. Running has never been my thing. In fact, I have always hated running. I did one race in September of 2014. It was rough, so I had no idea why I signed up for Beginner's Luck. Then...I won a pair of free shoes and figured I needed to get a few more miles on them. So, somehow I convinced myself to sign up for the Good Life Halfsy (13.1 miles). What was I thinking?! Four months later...I ran my first half marathon.
So thankful for friends who were uber supportive during the training process. My friends at work consistently ran with me to keep me in shape after Beginner's Luck ended. And my friend Steph stuck by my side on the weekends and then ran the half with me. She kept me upright during those 13.1 miles and I am so grateful because it was rough. Although I was a little bummed with how my body held up during the race, I was so happy to finish!
What an experience. But, I would be lying if I didn't say I am SO relieved it is over!
Free shoes!
Beginner's luck 5k race in July
Cameya. What a great friend! She has ran with me almost every weekend!!
Work pals who made Beginner's Luck fun! The running...not so much :)
Training had to happen even when I traveled. Denver's altitude about killed me.
Injury prevention at it's finest.
Zechmann's + long runs. So thankful for these people.
Proof that I smiled a few times...
End scene. Thank goodness!
Cheering squad! So thankful!
I was hurting so bad at the end of the race. As Steph and I were only .10 from the finish I saw my family. I immediately started crying and cried all the way through the finish. Thanks, Ashley for capturing Steph and me at the end of this!
Steph, couldn't have done this without you. Thanks for being by my side!

Lola Lou
We've been anxiously preparing for a new puppy in the Hustad house! In early September, we drove up to Oakland to pick our golden doodle puppy. We fell in love with this little peanut who was named Mariah. We had a very hard time deciding what we wanted to rename this sweetie. But, we finally settled on Lola. Lola came home 10 lbs heavier than when we first met her. And in the weeks she has been home she has grown SO much! Her energy is endless but the girls are so happy!!
Lola - 3 weeks old
On our way home - Lola 9 weeks
Lola 10 weeks
Lola 11 weeks
