she refuses to walk...but loves to climb. uh-oh.

toddlerhood

it has been a strange transition ever since evie's first birthday. the parenting emails i get now say "your toddler." what is this? where did my baby go? i typically write a monthly update - but I am now going to do those "updates" following a peds appt.

evie is definitely in an experimental phase. she is constantly studying the cause and effect of everything around her. she loves knocking things over, throwing things (especially cellphones & remotes), throwing food during meals, throwing her sippy...but it is never in a destructive manner. and she usually follows up with an "uh-oh" once these things hit the floor. and then a super adorable little smile follows that.

how can we resist that cute smile? how do you discipline such a sweet little thing?

she loves to make us smiles. she loves to play chase. squeals explode out of her little body when she is frantically trying to "get away" from me when i chase her. 5pm is the highlight of my day. i love getting home to my sweetie pie.

she is so much fun right now. erik sends me the funniest videos when i am at work of their mornings together. she has been draggin her birthday balloon around for the past month and it's beyond adorable. her laugh is so much more boisterous and it is constant. needless to say we are also in a constant state of laughter.

we are interviewing for a new office associate via phone interviews. today we interviewed a real winner. see conversation below.

me: what adjective(s) would a supervisor use to describe you?
candidate: oh i guess hardworking. [long pause] yeah hardworking.
me: okay? what adjective(s) would a friend use to describe you?
candidate: oh i guess loyal.
me: anything else?
candidate: no not really.
me: oh, okay? what adjective(s) would an enemy use to describe you?
candidate: oh! people have told me that i don't know what i'm doing and i'm an idiot...
me: [long pause] okay. well thanks so much for taking the time to talk with me today. do you have any questions?
candidate: no not really.
