pumpkin patch

we spent this past sunday afternoon with the family at the roca berry farm! it was a perfect fall day and we had such a wonderful time. evie's cousins, declan & asher, were so fun to watch as they loved every moment running around enjoying all the farm had to offer. we ate hot dogs, cotton candy, and funnel cakes! we watched bunnies, pig races, ponies and more! the boys even picked out their very own pumpkins. if could bottle up the afternoon and save it for later...i would.

apple picking

erik & i have opposite schedules - so we treasure every moment that we can be together just the three of us. today, erik & i took evie to arbor day farms in nebraska city. although evie will not remember much from her first venture to an apple orchard, it was a day filled with memories (and lots of bugs!).

nine months old

i cant even come up with a good introductory sentence for this post b/c i am at a loss for words. where has the time gone!?!?!

• evie now weights 15 lbs 15 oz (dropped to 5th percentile) and is 27 inches (25th percentile)
• evie is moving all over the place. crawling. pulling herself up. walking with assistance.
• she hates it when you make her sit still (diaper changes and nose wipes especially...).
• evie screams. at the top of her lungs. and she loves it.
• she says quite a few consonants. t's. n's. d's. m's. l's. b's. p's.
• we think she is beginning to understand "mama" & "dadda"
• evie loves peas and any small food item she gets to pick up and eat.
• she tried pasta this month. a little got eaten - but most ended up all over her face.
• evie loves to dance and will respond by shaking her entire body as soon as music as heard.
• she got her first tooth this month. still no pictures.
• evie experienced her first mahoney weekend!
• she loves to look at herself in the mirror.
• evie typically is always smiling but will throw mini baby tantrums when things don't go her way (i.e., not feeding her fast enough, taking away something she wants, ending bathtime before she's ready...).
• she has mastered the art of the sippy cup.
• evie is super tickle-ish and will giggle like crazy when you get the right spot between her ribs.
• she can clap her hands!

houston, we have a tooth.

evie's first tooth broke through! as much as i have tried to get a picture it has not worked out. she's such a trooper! she barely drools at all and doesn't seem to be in much pain. her naps have been all over the place, but other than that she seems to be doing great!

but boy oh boy - she sure loves to talk. evie gets louder & louder every day. she seems to enjoy SCREAMING at the top of her lungs. although it was cute the first couple times...erik & i are hoping she calms down a little...for the sake of our eardrums.

changes

it is all happening so fast. too fast. our baby is becoming a little person. this is what they warn you about...don't blink. not for a second. or you will miss something. it is true. in the past week evie has developed & changed in so many ways i don't even know where to begin.

she's clapping. with a sweet smile on her face - over and over again her hands slap together.

she's crawling. all over the place. and she's fast. turn around is fair play, right mom?

she's pulling herself up on EVERYTHING. and she is so proud of herself. we walked in to her room yesterday, and there she was peaking over the edge of the crib with a HUGE smile on her face.

she reaches up for me to pick her up. it makes me fall in love with her all over again...and so much more deeply.

she's laughing all the time. for no reason. for a lot of reasons. tonight she was sitting on my lap bouncing all over the place and laughing uncontrollably. i found myself laughing so hard with her i had tears streaming down my face. i wanted to capture the moment in a bottle with the lid tightly sealed.

these moments are literally priceless & i am so in love with my little girl.

evie has a lot to say. listen up.
