peek-a-boo

three months old

where is the time going!?! wow! 3 months old today!

this past month…

• evie is now 10.5 lbs over 22.5 inches long. she is still in the 25th percentile for her age/size.
• evie stares at her hands & is mesmerized by watching her fists open & close.
• she now enjoys laying under her activity mat & staring at the animals as they spin.
• evie is regularly sleeping through the night now for 6-9 hours straight.
• she takes 3 naps [or so] a day.
• evie got to meet grandma & grandpa hustad this month!
• evie loves to play peek-a-boo & stare at people's faces.
• she loves to push off and stand up while being held.
• the superman hold will calm evie down almost every time she is fussy.
• she is still wearing size 1 diapers.
• evie made her first trip to the zoo this month. she slept the entire time. :)
• evie will spend most of her time awake chatting & making noise.
• evie is now starting to giggle. it warms our hearts every time.

grandma & grandpa hustad

evie got to meet her hustad grandparents this week & she fell in love! what a great week we had! evie was in a great mood most days so we were able to venture out in to the city almost everyday. we ate a lot of good food & enjoyed the spring sunshine as well as walks on the waterfront!

when we weren't playing outside...we were inside playing [obsessively] solomon's key. it got a little ridiculous. so ridiculous, in fact, that it is paused on our nintendo wii so we don't lose our place. oh dear...

there is NO place like NEBRASKA

well, it's official. these 3 hustads are moving home to nebraska! we've been thinking & praying about this decision for several weeks - and its time. we plan to be home in the middle of may! beyond excited to be closer to family/friends. but saying goodbye to beautiful seattle will be more difficult than we imagined. we ask for your prayers for this transition.

in the mean time, evie has a lot to say today, so i'll let her say it. :)

to sleep or not to sleep?

well miss evie slept through the night for the first time last night! this is a point of celebration for many parents. i am excited that she slept through the night, but...we still are having some sleep issues. evie has taken it upon herself to decide when she will fall asleep - and she is on strike against daytime naps! she had been doing so well but evie has had a really hard time napping the past few days. she should be taking at least 3 naps a day, but the past couple days we have been lucky to get 1 nap in for 45 minutes. our weekend consisted of LOTS of smiles - but as soon as we tried to put her down in her crib for naptime - screamfest 2010 would begin.

we ruled out fever & ear infection. we are thinking maybe its another growth spurt? or maybe just a weird phase of boycotting naps. nonetheless, we are happy to say that she is still sleeping great at night. that is definitely something we are VERY thankful for.

it's rare that evie is crabby - and even when she is it never lasts that long. erik & i find it hard not to laugh at her pathetic little cries & whimpers. i'm not sure if that is mean of us - but here's a little video of her waking up from nap. [side note: as soon as i stopped filming she started to smile...go figure :)]
